One voice for Alabama’s grocery industry. 🎙️AGA President & CEO Ellie Taylor spoke with WVTM 13 about why the SNAP error rate issue matters and what these penalties could mean for Alabama. For Alabama’s grocers, food banks and the families they serve, this is about finding a fair path forward. Our state needs the opportunity to address the error rate before facing penalties that could create challenges throughout Alabama’s food system.AGA is proud to continue carrying this message forward and advocating for solutions that protect access to food across our state.🎥 Watch Ellie’s interview with WVTM 13:www.wvtm13.com/article/alabama-snap-benefits-penalties-impact/73479545#AlabamaGrocers #SNAP #Advocacy #FeedingAlabama #Alabama ... One voice. One table. One mission: feeding Alabama. 🍽️Today, leaders from across our industry stood together as representatives from Feeding Alabama’s food banks joined AGA in calling for a delay in the implementation of the SNAP error rate penalties.Without an extension, Alabama could face an estimated $174 million penalty, with consequences that could reach far beyond our industry and impact some of our state’s most vulnerable families. With 17.8% of Alabamians facing hunger, SNAP and our community food banks are both critical to feeding Alabamians. Food banks across our state are already working tirelessly to meet the need, and SNAP remains an essential part of helping families put food on the table.Alabama deserves a fair opportunity to address the error rate before these penalties take effect. We are calling on our leaders to help make this right and ensure states are treated fairly.Together, with one voice, we can fight to feed Alabama.#OneVoice #FeedAlabama #AlabamaGrocers #FeedingAlabama #SNAP #FoodSecurity #Advocacy ...
